What are you doing today?
Romans 7:15-20
9/12/22
Most of the time, when we want to make plans, we ask the other person, "What are you doing today?" Perhaps you ask that question because you are curious. Or, we ask that question to start a casual conversation.
As Christians, we should ask ourselves, "What are we doing today?" not only as a way to make plans but to see if we are doing the things of God or the things of sin. What does that mean?
It means we can easily give into the power of sin. If you have not grasped this concept by now, let me reiterate that you and I are sinners. We naturally want to do the things that displease God. We want to cuss; we want to be hateful, and we want to follow the ways of the world.
No one is without excuse. Paul, the author of Romans and other New Testament books, often did the things he hated. Everyone is a victim of their sinful habits.
The choice we have today, tomorrow, and in the days to come is how much sin are we going to allow to rule over our lives? Or will we remain in the power of God and the Holy Spirit to give us the strength not to do the things we hate?
