About Me

My Story

One day after my ninth birthday, I got sick. I remember lying on the couch with a 104-degree fever. Weeks later, I woke up to hair scattered across my pillow. Was it the fever or something else that caused my hair to fall out? I will never know the answer, for sure. But what I do know is I was diagnosed with alopecia and have lived without hair since I was in third grade.

After a long battle of trusting God with my condition, I realized God wanted me to use my story to share how others can use theirs to bring God’s glory.

I answered the call to ministry in 2016 and began my nonprofit, Know Ministries, in the same year. As the founder and president of Know Ministries, I oversee our mission to provide Bibles to children in the inner cities. We have provided thousands of Bibles to children across different states and countries.

I am a published author. I have written two books. In 2023, I wrote a short book called The Truth About Children, where I share five Biblical lessons we can learn from children. In 2024, I published Look in the Mirror, my story of losing my hair to alopecia and how I found confidence in Jesus. I also have written devotionals and Bible studies for Know Ministries.

I also enjoy creating new content. I manage my YouTube channel, where I share practical and encouraging videos on how you can use your story for God’s glory and to encourage others. Along with sharing encouraging videos on YouTube, I also write for my blog, Away from the Mirror. My blog posts are similar to my video content. I write devotionals that I share through my newsletter, Reflections. You can also take part in my courses.

What People Are Saying

“Bishop is doing an amazing job of actually being the hands and feet of Jesus. His personality is perfectly suited for covering all areas of Know Ministries from fundraising to boots on the ground—personally putting a Bible in a persons hand. It will be an honor and extremely interesting to watch what God will do with Bishop in the future!”

— Leslie Threadgill, His Way Inc.

“Bishop is only 21, but he already has a firm grasp on what’s important: Getting the Word of God into the hands of the next generation. He’s already begun executing that vision, and I’m excited to see how God will use him next.”

— Katie Ginn, Mississippi Christian Living

“Bishop Barlow’s desire to make the Bible available to the world is incredibly unique for his generation. But, his goals go even beyond that; I believe his legacy will be legendary and historical for the glory of God!”

— Tommy Miskelly, Miskelly’s Furniture

“After meeting my brother Bishop, I quickly realized his passion for God. Being a young man with such convicition made it more of a blessing to witness. The scripture I feel reflects him is 1 Peter 2:22, like Jesus, there is no guile found in him.”

— Charles Graham, Charles Graham Ministries

Know Ministries

This is my nonprofit organization I started when I was a senior in high school. Anyone that knows me knows that I am passionate about this work and seeing children in the inner cities receive their own personal Bible.

Away from the Mirror

When I lost my hair to alopecia in third grade, I struggled with my identity and accepting my condition. Now, I am using my story to share how your story can be used for God’s glory.
