Peace in Chaos
2 Thessalonians 3:16
10/3/22
Whenver I get the chance, I like to watch the news. When driving, I listen to a political podcast to stay informed about the day's events. Since senior year of high school, I have been interested in learning more about the events in the world and forming my own opinions.
While we hear that the media cannot be trusted, one thing remains true: the news can cause us to freak out when there is chaos in the world. I will never forget what one mom of a child in Houston, TX told me earlier this year.
Earlier this year, I was working with Servant of Nations Church in Houston, TX, to provide Bibles to children and families. One mom came up to me and a staff member from Servant of Nations Church to tell us why she wanted her children to have a Bible. (At the same time, the war between Ukraine and Russia was beginning.)
The mom said, "I want my child to see beyond the horrors of the world and find peace in the Bible."
There is chaos going on in the world right now. There is probably chaos in your life right now. We cannot go a day without stress. How we react determines how strong our faith is. Today, trust that God will bring you peace.
The chaos will continue until Christ returns, but so will His promises. God may not solve your problems when you want it, but He will always give you peace. His promises never fail.
