Just Provide The Seeds

1 Corinthians 3:6
10/17/22

After two months in Texas, I was able to come home to Mississippi this past weekend. One of the main reasons I came home was to be at The Light 2022. For those who do not know, The Light 2022 was a Bible distribution event for Know Ministries, where churches and community organizations partnered with us to connect with children and families in the Jackson, MS, community.

I will share more this week about my reaction to The Light 2022, but for now, I will share that it did not start well for me. At The Light 2022, God spoke through a friend of mine to remind me of an important message. No children or families were there when the event was supposed to begin. I was devastated and began to question what I had done wrong.

At this moment, God used a friend to remind me that we are not to worry when we do all we can. God calls us to plant a seed while He assembles the garden. It would have upset me if no one showed up, but my friend was right when he said, "Even if no one showed up, God is still glorified. You did all you could and planted a seed for the community to hear about the Gospel. If no one shows up, then they are the ones missing out." Thankfully, kids and families arrived, and it was an amazing day.

After The Light 2022, I started to think about how all we need to do is provide the seeds so God can harvest the garden. Paul knew this when he wrote to the Corinthian church. God causes the gardens to grow; we need to provide the seeds. Only God can make beautiful gardens.

God always makes things work out. We must be faithful to what He has called us to do. Stop trying to be the gardener today and focus on providing the seeds.
