The Search for Hope

The Search for Hope

Does your life seem out of control? Has that promotion not come? Has your prodigal child not come home? Are you drowning in finances?

Have you lost hope?

As we conclude our study on Psalm 37, let verse 34 remind you that you can still have hope even when it all seems lost. David says, "Hope in the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it."

David promised five times in Psalm 37 that the people would inherit the land God promised them. The people of God would see the land that God promised. Did God act on their timing? No, and He does not work on our timing either. Why? Because God acts on perfect timing, not human timing.

A waiting season can be challenging to our faith. But a waiting season can also be a growing season. Now that the Super Bowl is over, NFL teams do not sit and wait until the new season begins. Instead, they start to train for the next season. In your season of waiting, train yourself. Rely on God. Do what David says and have hope in God.

When we have hope that God will fulfill His promises, we will rejoice when they are fulfilled. The wickedness in your life will be destroyed soon. For now, have hope in God by remembering that God is faithful.
